Archie Flanagan Obituary

ARCHIE   FLANAGAN

MARCH 1, 1953 - SEPTEMBER 24, 2018

Archie Flanagan was born in Cleveland, Ohio on Sunday, March 1, 1953 to Joseph and Josephine Flanagan.  Archie was the second of four children born to this union.

Archie professed his love of Christ at an early age.  He was baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church, Cleveland, OH, by Reverend A. Henson Jarmon.  Archie and his family made the walk from Shiloh to form the Fellowship Baptist Church, where he joined the youth usher board.  As an adult, he joined The Greater Abyssinia Baptist Church under the Pastorate of Reverend Dr. E.T. Caviness.

Archie was educated in the Cleveland Public School System. He graduated from East Technical High School.

He worked fulltime at Gould’s Auto Parts Factory, as a welder and part-time for the United States Postal Service.

Archie enjoyed talking and visiting with his family and friends, watching television (westerns, comedies, football, basketball and boxing), as well as, socializing. His hobbies included skating, bowling and dancing.  Archie also loved to cook.

Archie’s moral values and beliefs were displayed in his upbringing by his beloved parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

Archie Flanagan, was affectionately called “Arch,” by his family and friends.  Arch   was called home, to glory, on Monday, September 24, 2018 at 8:50 a.m.

Archie leaves to mourn and cherish his memories:  his son; Archie II, (companion, Dorothy), sister; Debra (Derrick Wayne), brothers; Robin and Anthony (Karen).

Archie has two special cousins that he referred to as his "brother/sister cousins"; Earl Stevens and Geneva Gardner, nephews; Anthony Flanagan, II, Jarred Gadson, aunt; Frances Wilcox, great nieces; Chloe and Zee-Zee, great nephews; Alontae, Azihon, Anthony III, and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Archie was preceded in death by his beloved parents.  He will surely be missed by all.  We loved him, but God loved him more.
