Cassandra Ann Gorie, affectionately known as “San”, was born on October 30, 1958 to Harriett Woodford and Frank Crowder (preceded her death) in Grenada, Mississippi. As a preschooler she relocated to Cleveland, Ohio. Cassandra was the oldest of three children. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior and was baptized at the City of Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Where she served as a Sunday School teacher. She graduated from John Adams High School in 1976 and attended key-punch school after graduation.
She landed her first job at Richmond Brothers as a data entry operator. Then moved to a position at Central National Bank. In Sept 1986, she married Tommy Gorie, Jr and together they had a son Tommy III and later in life she had two daughters Kesha Dee and Kerrie Deanna.
She dedicated 40 years of service to all her employers: F.W. Woolworth’s Restaurant, Sista’s Chicken and Biscuits, B.P. Oil, Glidden-ICI Paints, Marriott Reservation Center, Safeguard Properties, Penton Media and Anthony J. Celebrezze Federal Building.
In 2013, she became a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Nurses Ministry, Servant Helper Ministry, and sang with the Voices of Grace Choir.
She was hardworking, loving, and hilarious. Her smile and laughter touched those hearts she was near. She was quick to listen and slow to judge. Cassandra first love was her family, which she was very proud of.
