Charles J Jones

March 12, 1939 ~ February 15, 2018 (age 78)

Charles "Boyzee" Jones Sr. was born March 12, 1939 in Montezuma, GA to the late Elizabeth McClendon & O.C. Jones. Charles departed this life February 15, 2018. Charles was educated in the public school system of Montezuma,GA and graduated from high school there. He later left Georgia and went to Miami, Florida then Akron,Ohio where he drove trucks. He then gained employment in Twinsburg,Ohio at the Chrysler plant for 40 years. Charles retired in 2006 when his health started to fail.                                                                                     

 Charles accepted Christ at an early age and grew up in church. Charles loved to sing. He sang for years with "Christian All stars of Akron, Ohio & many other groups throughout the city. Charles & Lorain got married July. 29, 1989, they traveled all over the world together & attended almost all of the National Baptist Conventions along with Congress sessions. Charles  joined the Mt.Gillion Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend F.L.Brown and was ordained as a Deacon December 23, 2001. Charlie had continued to grow in Christ under the pastorate of Reverend Nathan Nance and the entire Mt. Gillion Family.

 Charles & Lorain joined the Historic Greater Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Larry Howard in April of 2015 & it has been a great experience with love spiritual growth & support from the entire church. We have great Deacons who were very supportive to us.                                                                                                                                                             

 Charles leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife Lorain Jones Sister's Louise & Mary Powell of Montezuma, GA Brother's Eddie Will Jones of Miami, Florida & Marvin Jones (Deceased) Laveda Jones of Akron,Ohio Daughter Tracy M.Herron Son's Robert Herron Jr & Charles Jones II Grandchildren Markita & Mark Thomas Jr. Christopher Garrett, Alexander Bryant III (Deceased), Toniece& Rayshon Herron, Charlesia & Charles Jones III. Special Grandson Mario Bailey & Special cousin Matt Walters of Akron, Ohio. He also leaves to cherish his memory a host of other family & friends. 

Special extended Family Ronnie & Eva Berry,Percy & Thelma Love, Kathy Scovill and Elizabeth Sealy. Special thanks too ALL our Family, Cleveland Clinic Hospice along with My son & grandsons; Tone, Mark & Little Al for your support with Charlie.
