Dennis Boyd, affectionately known as “Den Lover” / Moon, went home to be with the lord on February 4, 2019. Dennis was born on October 10, 1955 in Cleveland, OH to the late Nornetta Jean Boyd Jackson and raised by his stepfather A.D. Jackson. Dennis was the 4th born and only boy of 6 siblings. He was pre-deceased by 3 of his siblings, Stephanie Boyd, Darleen Jones, and Felicia Boyd.
Dennis being born and raised in Cleveland, was a true Clevelander, having attended Cleveland public schools, and graduating from John Hay High School. Dennis was a die- hard sports fan. He was a super fan of all Cleveland sports. He was a conscientious worker with J. L. Constructions and worked up until the day he passed away. Dennis was very knowledgeable in the business. He supervised the team, and took the lead in training the staff to ensure the job was done right. Dennis was a member of the First Community Baptist Church in Cleveland.
Dennis took great pride in spending time with his family and friends, from attending his grandsons games, attending local concerts, traveling, talking to his sisters for hours on the phone, and even being the families go to handy man even when he didn’t want to. Dennis met Elane Walton over 37 years ago and she became his partner for life. Dennis loved Elane very much and the two of them produced a wonderful Son, Donovan Boyd.
Dennis is survived by his beloved son, Donovan Dennis Boyd Sr. and his daughter in law Dominique Boyd who he loved and adored along with his partner, his love, Elane, his grandchildren who knew him as “PAPA”, Donovan Jr., Dannon, Drue, Sidney, Christian, Jayden, Landon, Arierion & Nautika.
Dennis leaves to mourn his 2 sisters, Elice Deborah Ottrix, (Howard), Renee Jones and his sister and brother in love Latonya and Edward Riley. 6 Nephews: Edward Jones, Howard Ottrix Jr.,(Khalilah) George Jones III (Amiee), Donny Jones, Bryon Ottrix Sr. (Courtney), & Kelvin Boyd. 3 Nieces: Stephanie Jones, Patrease Roscoe (Ivan) and Laron Boyd. His life long friend Eddie Washington and a host of other relatives and friends.
