Donna Clayton, daughter of late Bernis Jones and Vernice Ragin,
Born March 12, 1944. The first born grandchild to the Ragin family and eldest of 3 children. She
was preceded in death by brothers David and Mickey.
Donna was educated in the cleveland public school system, graduated from John Hay in 1963.
She earned a bachelor's degree, at Sawyer Business College and Tri-C.
Donna was employed as an emergency dispatcher, until she became a teacher. She first
started as a Jr High teacher but realized she had a passion for being a preschool teacher.
The most memorable events in her life was the birth of her children: Byron, John, Mark and
Dawn. She was known for her love for children, art and angel collecting. She was a member of
Operation Good News and the Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She lived a life of faith and belief in
god, always giving, sharing and encouraging.
She was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer March of 2019 and moved quietly into her
last greatest adventure on Friday August 30th. Even in her last days she expressed her concern
about her children and grand-children “little ones”.
She leaves to cherish her memories, Brother Randy, Sister Linda, Sons, Byron, John and Mark,
(Step-son) Adrian, Daughter, Dawn, (Step-daughter) Regina, Nicole Walker, Aunt Barbara,
Uncle Jack, Beloved friend Diane and a host of Grand’ and Great-Grandchildren.
