Gloria Jean Priscilla Thomas Walker was born on October 20.1945 in Cleveland, Ohio to Glasco and Luvert(Clay) Thomas who pre deceased her. Gloria was the oldest of seven children.
Gloria attended East Technical High School and Cuyahoga Community College. She later became employed with Cleveland State and then worked for the V.A. Hospital until getting engaged on the job. After many years, she worked at Benjamin Rhoads.
Gloria confessed her life to Christ at an early age. Gloria attended New Jerusalem Baptist Church in her youth. She served under the pastorate of the late Andrew Sizemore, and Bobby C. Ward. She moved her membership to Sanctuary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Pastor Mark Smith. Gloria was a mother of the church and the morning sip
Gloria was involved in the street club and the Mt. Pleasant Community Club of 110th Street and various activities with Zack Reed.
Gloria loved to entertain. Gloria was known as the “ Hat Lady”. She had a love for her hats, clothes, shoes and purses and everything must match.
Gloria leaves to cherish her memory her children: Jerry Walker(Karen), Lenard Walker, Kevin Walker and Leslie Walker ( Anisa). Her siblings: Leatrice Johnson, Leslie Thomas, Aristine Thomas and Earline Thomas. Her siblings Glasco and Hiwatha preceded her in death. Grandchildren: Carlos Walker, Tierra Green Walker, Dontez Williams, Chantel Mokuke, Terrell Walker, Brenda Walker, Kevin Walker Jr., Renee Walker. Great-Grandchildren: Elijah Mokuke , Kamari Walker, U’Karie Wlaker and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
