Grange Robert Alves, age 79, passed away on December 26, 2018 following a brief illness. Born in Cleveland, Grange graduated from Solon High School. Thereafter he was stationed at the U.S. Army Baumholder Military Base in Germany where he served as a mechanic. Following his military service he attended The Ohio State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture in 1968. He went on to work at Dow Chemical in Texas before moving to Montana to become a cattle rancher in the 1970's. He returned to the Cleveland area after reconnecting with his former high school classmate, Patricia "Tish," who he married on April 21, 1990. Grange loved animals, playing his grand piano, and belly laughs. He is survived by his daughter, Lillian (husband Todd Bane) and granddaughters Bridget and Brenna of Denver and five step-children: George, Kerry, Leslie, Bruce, and Tim. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Tish, and siblings Joyce and Keith Alves. Memorial services are being planned for 2019. In lieu of flowers the family encourages donations to the Cleveland Orchestra or the Geauga Humane Society Rescue Village.
