Obituary
Janet Jeanette Stevenson Agee was born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 6, 1947, to the union of the late Roscoe and Dorothy Lofton (both preceded her in death) She departed this life on December 31, 2018, after a short illness.
Janet married Robert Stevenson in 1965 and later, in 1994, she married Edwin Agee (preceded her in death) She had three children, two daughters, Rachiel Stevenson - Evans and Ralonda Stevenson – Wallace, and one son, Andre Barnes.
Janet was educated in the Cleveland Public Schools system, graduated with honors from John Adams High School (Rebels) and received her Bachelor of Arts in Accounting at Case Western Reserve University. She rededicated her life to Christ 16 years ago and was baptized at St. Timothy Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a member with her husband, Edwin.
Janet was employed with an independent newspaper company as a Proofreader. She later became employed at Society Bank, known as Key Bank today, where she worked for over 20 years as a Troubleshooter and Balancing Teller. She also was employed at Dillard’s as a Customer Service Representative, a little over a year.
Janet was very outspoken, for those who knew her called her “Jan”! She loved going to The Cincinnati Jazz Festival every summer and could hand dance her butt off! She loved watching Western movies, family game shows, and The Cleveland Browns, she referred to as “The Cleveland Brownies”.
Janet leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Rachiel (Ron), Ralonda (Lawrence) and Andre. Her sisters, Lois (Ralph) and Pheobe, and brother Dennis. Eleven grandchildren, Waukesia, Tyrone Jr., Tianna (Derek), Tamara, Nakelia, Natasha, Jazmin, DeAngelo, Andre Jr., Alex, Alexis (Lexi) and eight great-grandchildren, Lauren, Elijah, Evaryce (Evan) De’Marien, Cam’Ren, Ny’Aira and Paris, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Two siblings and one grandchild preceded her in death, her brother, Ronald, sister Denise and granddaughter Adrian.
