Joe Sevier Obituary

JOE’S LIFE STORY

Joe Louis Sevier was one of 5 children born to the late Jolly T and Pruevearl Carter Sevier on August 24, 1936, in Cambden Arkansas.

On August 24, 1957, Joe was joined in Holy Matrimony to Gaybella Bolden-Sevier. They remained married for over 61 years. From this union two lovely daughters were born: Elissa Sevier-Thomas and Paula Sevier-Anekwe.

Although he was baptized at an early age, in Cambden Arkansas, later on he studied the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses, and he loved hosting the “friends” at his home.

Joe Louis fell asleep in death, peacefully, in his home, on Friday, August 3, 2018.

He attended East Technical High School where he played the saxophone in the band. He was employed at Zatko Metal Products for over 17 years, of which he left to work at the Ford Motor Co. Joe worked for Ford Motor Company for over 40 years where he was employed as a Hi-Lo driver. He loved his job, never missing a day.

Joe was a quiet person and was given the name “Slow Joe”. He was a dedicated father and grandfather to his family and loved his dog, “Cody”, dearly. He enjoyed fishing whenever he got a chance.

He leaves to mourn a loving wife, Gaybella, two daughters, Elissa Sevier-Thomas (Anthony) and Paula Sevier Anekwe, three grandchildren, Anthony Thomas Jr.(Brytni), Joseph Thomas and Uchenna Anekwe. In addition he leaves to mourn one Sister-in-Law Arnetta Bell, Three Brothers-in-Laws, Tyrone Bolden (Lucretia), Donald Bolden (Shirley) and Larry Bolden in Columbus, Ohio. He also leaves to mourn Aunts and Uncles and Cousins in Detroit, California and Cleveland and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
