Katherine (Sturgis) Mock

Katherine Sturgis was born on November 24, 1951 along with her twin sister Kathleen Sturgis to Samuel Harris and Aquilla Sturgis (Deceased) in Baltimore, Maryland. Katherine and Kathleen spent their childhood in Baltimore and relocated to Ohio, where Katherine met her husband Marine William Mock (Deceased, survived by his sister, Barbara Wright and her children: Henry and Imani Wright and her Grandchildren: Leliah and Nova).  Marrying into a military family, Kathy was able to fulfill her dreams of traveling across the country with their children Byron Sturgis and Lorraine Mock.

Katherine began her career at Davro Incorporated where she worked for over 10 Years before transitioning into her career in hospitality, where she retired in 2015 from Horseshoe Casino. Kathy enjoyed oldies but goodies music, Andy Griffith Show, Roseanne and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed watching Joel Olsten. Her proudest and most beautiful moments came from her time spent with her grandchildren and cooking and eating her traditional pot roast with potatoes and carrots with her family. Katherine rededicated her life to Christ in 2019.

Katherine is survived by her two children: Byron Sturgis and Lorraine Mock. Her amazing Grandchildren: Latrevia, Deshawn and Diamond Mock.  Great Grandchildren:  A’shawna, Deshawn Jr., and Justice. She also leaves her beloved twin sister; Kathleen Sturgis-Hall; Nephew and Niece; Stacey and Latoya Sturgis., Great Nephew;   Jaylin Blanksenship. She leaves her Half Sister and Half Brother, Cheryl and Samuel Harris III. Cheryl and Samuel’s Children: Tiana, Dontrell, Nathaniel, Samuel IV, Samitria, Samika, Magic and their children. She is also survived by a host of cousins and extended family: Carolyn Maldonodo, Seth Vaughn, Mary Carson, Phyllis Williams, William Vaughn, Ralph Vaughn, Sonny Turner, Jasmine Bashir, Jasmine Hall, Glenda Love, and Eryl Sturgis (Wife of Stacey Sturgis).
