Alontay Delon “Lontay” Sparks departed this life far too soon on April 26, 2025, at the age of 26. Born on April 8, 1999, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Aisha Sparks-McCalla and the late Marlon Allen, Alontay was a deeply loved son, devoted father, caring brother, and loyal friend. His bright smile and generous spirit were gifts that left a lasting impression on everyone blessed to know him.
A proud graduate of Maple Heights High School, Alontay’s passion for football shined brightly on the field. He was admired by his teammates for his dedication, humility, and sportsmanship. Beyond athletics, his greatest joy came with the birth of his son, Alontay Jr., on May 12, 2024. Becoming a father was Alontay’s proudest moment, and he embraced fatherhood with unwavering love and commitment.
Those close to Alontay will remember his boundless energy, sense of humor, and the comfort of his presence. Whether laughing with friends over video games or simply enjoying the moment, he made everyone feel seen, valued, and uplifted. To know him was to know joy, and his legacy lives on in the hearts that he touched.
He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Aisha Sparks-McCalla, his bonus dad, Robert McCalla, his beloved son, Alontay Jr., and the mother of his child, Destiny. His memory will be forever cherished by his siblings, Martez, Robert Jr., and Robin; his maternal grandfather, Thomas Sr.; his paternal grandmother, Rhonda; and his bonus grandparents, Luke and Denise. He is also survived by his uncles, Sam, Thomas Jr., and Antwan; his aunts, Amber and Mea; and a host of cousins and dear friends who were touched by his warmth and love.
Alontay was preceded in death by his father, Marlon Allen, and his maternal grandmother, Joann Sparks.
Alontay’s spirit will continue to guide and inspire his loved ones, especially his son, who will grow up surrounded by the love and stories of the incredible man his father was. His memory will live on through shared laughter, fond recollections, and the enduring strength of family. Though his time with us was brief, the impact he made is immeasurable.
Rest peacefully, dear Lontay. You were a true treasure, and your legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will be held in our hearts forever.
