Angela Dukes, 69, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unforgettable energy. Born on April 28, 1956, in Cleveland, Angela lived a life rooted in family, resilience, and joy.
Angela was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel Dukes and John Dukes, and her sister, Linda Carson-Ray.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving sons, Joe Dukes, John Dukes, and Brent Dukes; her bonus son, Eric Rosser; Bonus Daughter, Angie Lanier and Tracy Lanier; her siblings, Brenda Shaw, John Dukes Jr., and Patricia Jennings; her daughters-in-law, Zaneta Dukes and Stacy Dukes; her beloved grandchildren, Danijah Dukes, Jaden Dukes, Damon Dukes, Brent Dukes, Jordan Dukes, Bailey Dukes; Bonus Grandchildren, Teaira, Anthony, Roscoe, Jamira, Jada, Jalisa, Tim, and Jason; her great-grandchildren, King Dukes and Khari Dukes. Her legacy continues through each of them.
Angela grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and attended John Hay High School. Demonstrating resilience and determination, she later earned her GED and continued her education at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C). She went on to become the proud owner of Dukes Jewelry and Fashion, where her natural sense of style and eye for beauty shined through everything she touched.
A woman of strength and faith, Angela was deeply involved in Narcotics Anonymous, where she not only found purpose but also gave back—supporting, uplifting, and guiding others through their journeys. She was a caregiver at heart, always showing up for those in need, often putting others before herself.
Angela truly lived life in her own rhythm. She had a deep love for R&B music—coming home, turning on her favorite songs, and rocking back and forth as if each note was therapy for her soul. Those moments defined her peace. She also enjoyed trips to the casino, where her lively spirit and love for excitement were always on full display.
Her greatest pride and passion, however, was her family—especially her sons. She poured into them endlessly, loving them with everything she had. To know Angela was to experience her warmth, her humor, and her undeniable presence. She was the life of the party, effortlessly stylish, and a true friend to those fortunate enough to know her well.
Angela lived by the words of her favorite prayer, the Serenity Prayer, carrying its message through both her struggles and her triumphs.
Today, we don’t just mourn Angela Dukes—we celebrate her. We celebrate a woman who loved deeply, gave selflessly, and lived fully. Her spirit, her lessons, and her love will continue to live on in every life she touched.
