Bertha was born July 29, 1946 to John and Lola Pugh in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the youngest of her 4 siblings, Emma Rollins, Samuel Pugh and Johnelle Pugh (who proceeded her before death). She attended East High School.
Bertha attended nursing school and started her career in health care at Mt. Sani Hospital, Cleveland Clinic and most recently at Multicare Healthcare where she provided excellent home healthcare services to her various clients that she took seriously.
Bertha came into the knowledge of Christ at Open Door Baptist Church in 2015 under the pastoral leadership Pastor Joseph Hopkins III , where she was baptized within the same year of joining. Bertha Loved the lord and prayed to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ without hesitation. She attended Sunday service and Bible Study as well events held at the church regularly until her illness prevented from doing so. Even in her absence from church she still stayed strong in reading her bible, scripture and watching inspirational sermons on tv.
Bertha gave birth to two daughters Johnetta “Nuna” Pugh and Bridgett “Bridge” Tift whom she adored greatly.
Bertha leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Bridgett Tift (Robert), grandsons Langston “ Lank” Tift, Kevin Pugh and Robert “RJ” Tift, granddaughter Paris “Missy” Pugh and a special friend Gerald Hickman along with a host of great grand kids, nieces, nephews and friends. Bertha was preceded in death by her brother, Johnelle Pugh and grandson Karl Louis Hawkins.
