Obituary

Carol Denise Walker was born on April 23, 1961 to the union of the late Rev. Eddie E Walker and Ellen D. Walker. After the death of Rev. Walker, her mother married Rev. Dan Love and together they raised 4 other siblings. Eddie E. Walker Jr., Angela L.Walker (both deceased) Dennis Love and Patricia L. Eiland-Shorter. Carol gave her life to the Lord as a teenager and after graduating from South High School in 1980 she attended classes at Tri-C majoring in music.

Carol met and married Keith Lamar Buckhanon and to that union Karynese Keyellen and Keith Lamar Jr. were born, and she also became “Mom” to others. Carol worked as an operator, nursing aide, musician, and singer. Her passion for music and signing gave her the opportunity to play for several churches in the Cleveland area, as well as playing, singing, and speaking at nursing homes. For the past 10 years she and her family were part of the Apostolic Church of Christ family in Oakwood Village, under the pastorate of Bishop Clarence B. Price; where she faithfully played the piano and Keith Jr. played the drums until she became ill. Even after she found herself residing in nursing homes she always had a smile on her face and open loving arms ready to reach out and help anyone she could that needed guidance. She continued to serve the Lord by playing, singing, teaching bible study and helping the visiting ministers lead worship.

Carol leaves to cherish her memory: husband Keith Sr.; children: Karynese, Latonya, Leann, Anita, Keith Jr., and David; sister, Rev. Patania Eiland-Shorter, and brother Dennis Love; Twenty-one grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and a host of other family members and close loving friends. She will be missed!
