Curtis Sparks was born January 14, 1954, he was the youngest of five to his parents Alexander Sparks Sr. and Lizzie Lee Sparks (Both deceased).
HIS LIFE:
Curtis accepted Our Lord and Savior at an early age. He joined and was baptized at Greater Saint James Baptist Church. Curtis later joined the choir and became a minister of music. Curtis attended Cleveland Public Schools, graduated from John Adams High School where he met and married the love of his life Odelia Burkhalter (Deceased). Out of that union two children, Latasha Burkhalter and Curtis Sparks Jr. was born. Curtis later joined several bands in the Cleveland area and was well known by many for playing the lead guitar.
Curtis worked at Aluminum Smelting for many years andseveral other jobs before becoming totally disabled. Curtis had many hobbies such as, writing music and playing all types of music, fishing, and watching television, just to name a few. Curtis assisted his elderly sister Catherine Anthony in many ways, in his last days he resided with his sister until his death. On October 4th 2021, Curtis went home to be with the Lord.
Curtis leaves behind to celebrate his life two devoted children: daughter Latasha Burkhalter, son Curtis Sparks Jr. (Dana), three grandchildren, Ashate Sullivan, Tarrance Mauldin II, and Amarria Odelia Sparks, four great-grandchildren, Damarion, Rayshawn, Mason, and La’Niyna, 3 siblings, Columbus, Catherine and Alexander, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
