Delores Lewis, was born Tuesday, February 8, 1944 in Cleveland, Ohio. She peacefully entered eternal rest, Sunday, June 29, 2025.
Delores, "Dee Dee" as we lovingly called her, was the daughter of Robert and Lutishie Fields. She was raised with love by her dear grandmother, Harriett "Ma Ma" Bonner, on 63" and Outwaith where she enjoyed friends in the neighborhood while growing up.
She was the wonderful little sister of: Evelyn, Paralee, Diane, Sandra, Roy, Jerome, Michael, Vernell, Darrell, and Ronnell.
Dee Dee received her education in the Cleveland Public Schools. She met her best friend, JoAnn Allen-Nichols, while attending Dike Elementary school. Dee Dee earned her General Education Development Diploma from Cuyahoga Community College.
A woman of faith and prayer, she accepted Christ at an early age. In 1985, Dee Dee joined Christ Temple Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Earl R. Brewer. She later joined Mt. Haven Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Michael D. Small, where she served faithfully as an usher until her health made it difficult to continue serving.
She was the loving and caring mother of Maurice, Marcia, Marnitta, Marquilla and Adrian.
Dee Dee married her loving husband, Henry Lewis. She was employed at Warrensville and Cleveland Development Centers as a caregiver.
During her career, she formed deep bonds with her clients. She treated them with the same compassion and devotion that she gave her family.
Dee Dee enjoyed traveling, shopping and spending time with family and friends, especially during the holidays and her birthday, she also enjoyed displaying her culinary skills along with her arts and crafts.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lutishie, husband, Henry; siblings: Jereme, Sandra and Michael and son, Maurice,
She leaves to cherish her memory, children: Marcia, Marnitta (Juan, Sr.), Marquilla and Adrian (Tiffany), Godchildren: Lavell, Nelly, Marvin and Kenyetta, Grandchildren: Marcus, Brian, Latisha, Larry, Dominique, Diamond, Aaron, Allen, Adrian, Ajene, Juan, Gabrielle, and Cameron. A host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Delores leaves behind a legacy of love for family, though she will be deeply missed, her memory will remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.
