Desmond Wilson Obituary

Desmond Lamar Wilson Sr. was born January 28,1975 in Cleveland Ohio at Metropolitan hospital, gifted to Theresa Wilson and David Scott.

Desmond, affectionately known as Big Des, was loved by many. In his youth he was a very happy child. He was spoiled by his Mother Theresa and great grandparents Geneva and Oliver. As a young man he adopted the catholic religion attending Fatima Church regularly, He later gave his life to Christ and converted to Christian.  Desmond attended Paul L. Dunbar, Margaret A. Ireland, Wilson Jr. High and East High School where he played running back and linebacker wearing #4 on his jersey.

Desmond always had an appetite for fun and engaging in various activities with his extended family, the Hough community. That included going to Cedar Point with Miya, Jr., Ree-Ree, Tee-Tot, Twan and Donald with the church every summer.

Desmond was a very talented and charismatic man with a soulful voice, to feel his passion was to hear him sing, he loved music with all his heart. He loved to dance as well, he enjoyed doing new edition routines with Miya, Ricky, Twan and Donald, making sure everyone was on point. He had so much confidence and swag he didn’t mind sharing it, with a smile and a way with words that was unforgettable. He was the life of the party, greeted with daps and hugs everywhere he went. Best dressed, well groomed and very stylish. He had to have the best clothes, kicks, hats and jewelry. Other passions included drawing, being active and playing the game. He often watched sports center to keep up with everything. The Cleveland Browns were his team!! No one was a bigger fan than him. In his later years he enjoyed playing bingo with his grandmother Hellen.

He was very protective over the people he loved, ready to go to war for them all. His best friends were his children. He loved each and every one of them deeply, he spent most of his time with them; sharing stories, giving advice, horseplaying and talking about everything imaginable. They were his happy place; they kept him young and sane. He would come up to their school giving them and his little cousins jokes to take back to the lunch table, he was a big kid and they loved whenever he was around.

He is proceeding in death by his mother Theresa Wilson, children Dezzaria and DeAnthoney Wilson, Great grandparents Geneva and Oliver Marks, grandfather Willie Taylor, Uncles; James Mosley Sr., Frank and John Clyde, Aunties; Bessie Mosley, Mary, Doretha, Ella and Cousin Donita Steward

He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his father David, his wife Shawnte, his loving children; Desharee (Marie-Eliz), Desmond Jr., Deandre, Devontae, Mariee, Taijuan, Shamar, Deshon, Terrez, TaeShawn, DeMario, Destiney, and Brandon.
