Dorothy Jean Lurns

Dorothy Jean Higgins Lurns was born on February 12, 1943 in Camp Hill Alabama to the late George Delma Higgins, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Higgins. She was the second of six children born to this union. They later moved to Alexandria City, Alabama where she attended and finished school at Laurel High School. She met and married Jimmie Lurns and from this union they had four children, Marcus Lurns, David Lurns, Jennifer Lurns and Darryl Lurns and one stepdaughter, Keleiah Allen. She dedicated her life to serve Jehovah God in November 1975 to which she served faithful until her death April 30, 2021 with her over 8 million brothers and sisters. She was proceeded in death by her parents George Delma Higgins and Mary Elizabeth Higgins, 2 brothers Earnest Barney Higgins and Thomas Sylvester Higgins and Sister Mary Frances Anderson. She leaves to mourn her death, her husband Jimmie Lurns, children Marcus (fiancé Trina), David, Jennifer, Darryl (fiancé Dorothy), and step-daughter Keleiah, 13 loving grandchildren and 18 loving great-grandchildren, 2 brothers George (Hazel) Higgins, Willie (Zerita) Higgins, 1 Brother-in-law Douglas (Brenda) Lurns, special nieces, nephews and many more relatives and friends. Some of her hobbies were cooking, cleaning, attending meetings, field service, shopping and visiting friends and relatives. She had much love for people.
