Eddie Burge II. Obituary

Eddie Lee Burge, a servant of the Lord, born on August. 20 th 1955 in
Cleveland Ohio. He was the youngest son born to his parents, who proceeded him
in death, Pastor Eddie Lee Burge, Sr., and Clory Lee Burge.
Eddie Burge graduated from John Hay Highschool in 1973 where he
enjoyed being a part of the football team.
Eddie accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at an early age at the Original
Church of God Temple of Deliverance, under the leadership of the late Pastor
Narbell Sweet. One of his favorites scriptures was II Timothy 2:12 For if we
suffer, we shall also reign with Him.
On November. 5 th 1976 Eddie was united in marriage to his beautiful wife
Lura Salameta Tufts and to this union there were five children. Alphonso, Eddie,
Tammy, Angel & Regina.
Eddie enjoyed spending quality time with his family. Some of his favorite
activities were, camping, bowling, putt-putt, board games and of course he was a
sports fan. Most important he loved to watch his sons all his nephews and
grandsons play basketball. Eddie was very competitive so if you were losing you
were going to be laughed at! Eddie especially enjoyed his Saturday morning
breakfast at The Red Chimney with his big brother and big sister.
Eddie was and exemplary employee with 16 years of perfect attendance at
American Steel & Wire/Birmingham Steel Company. After they shut down, he
went on to retire from Swagelok.
For many years he was active in Ministry at The Original Church of God
under the leadership of his father and brother Pastor James Burge. In 1998 under
the same organization the church merged with Pastor Ollie King.
For the past 10 years Eddie was honored to join the Ministry under his own son
Pastor Eddie L Burge III at Covenant Community Church where he became an
ordained minister on March. 1 st 2015.
On April. 18 th 2024 with his family surrounded by his bedside, Eddie heard
the call of the Lord and had to answer.
Eddie was proceeded in death by both of his parents, Eddie and CloryLee
Burge; his oldest brother Nathaniel Burge Sr. (who we know he is in heaven
laughing with), his oldest sister Joyce Anne White (Alvin) and his grandson Joshua
Davis.

He leaves to cherish is memory his loving wife Lura Burge, who remained
steadfast and unmoveable by his side until the very end. He will be deeply missed
by his children Alphonso (Egypt), Pastor Eddie (Regina), Tammy Davis (Jason),
Angel Griffin (Johnny) and Evangelist Regina Burge-Isom. His bonus children
who he loved dearly as his very own, Jermaine Burge, Nathaniel Burge Jr,
Timothy Burge, Christina (Devon) and Fred James.
One aunt Melvina Miller. His sisters Deloise Burge, Gwendolyn Childress
(Robert), Sister-n-law Charlotte Burge, his brother-n-law/childhood friend Shelton
Tufts who was always found sitting at his bedside bright and early in the morning.
He leaves behind his absolute best friend in the whole world, his brother Pastor
James Burge (Donnella). His beloved grandchildren, Aaron, Gerand, Alphonso Jr.,
Mariah, Willie, Ahriel, Tatiana, Ziyon, Kynadi, Jason Davis Jr., Jalen, Jason Isom
Jr., Kaleb, Devaugn Dj, J’Leon, Josiah, Aniyah, Jaiah, Kassidy, Jeremiah, Resile,
Tamia, Isaiah and three great grandchildren Asia, AKyro, Alivia.
A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
