Read more about the life story of Elton and share your memory.
Elton Bell (affectionately known to close loved ones as Preacher) was born on May 7, 1959 in Twiggs County, Jeffersonville, Georgia, to the late parentage of Edward Bell and Anna Lee Chapman Williams. He departed this earthly life on April 7, 2020 in Cleveland, Ohio, where he had made his home for the past 30 years.
Elton spent his formative years in the care of his paternal grandparents, the late Arthur and Vonnie Mae Bell, in Jeffersonville, while periodically traveling to Miami, Florida to visit his mother, stepfather and younger siblings.
Elton graduated from Twiggs County High School in May 1978, after which he embarked on his career in Waste Management, culminating with his position with the Shaker Heights Country Club in Cleveland, where he was universally loved.
Elton leaves to reflect and mourn brother, Perry Chapman (Cheryl) of Macon, Georgia; brother Kent Bell of Miami, Florida; sister Miriam Bell of Miami, Florida and Willie Williams, Esq., of Miami, Florida. Aunt, Milered Glover of New Jersey; aunt, Marian Moore Cleveland, Ohio. In addition, he leaves a host of relatives and friends from around the country who will surely miss the gentle soul with the patient, beautiful voice.
