Emmarine McClinton Obituary

Emmarine McClinton, a beacon of love and elegance, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2025, in Cleveland, Ohio, at the age of 82. Born on New Year's Eve in 1942 to Evelyn Watts Williams and Mason Williams in Tutwiler, Mississippi, Emmarine's life was one of faith, family, and fashion. Emmarine graduated from West District High School in Sumner, Mississippi, in 1961. Her dedication to her work was evident in her long-standing career at Progressive, where she was employed from September 22, 1978, until her retirement on May 14, 2021. Throughout her life,

Emmarine's commitment to her community shone through her involvement with Zion Chapel Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor George O. Steward, where she served over thirty years, including as a secretary for the Pastor's Service Club. She later joined the Word Church, where she continued to share her love and support under the guidance of Pastor R.A. Vernon.

Emmarine's sense of style was unmatched; she was known as one of the best-dressed ladies around. Her love for fashion extended to her grandchildren, who were always impeccably dressed thanks to their grandmother's eye for style. Her favorite store was Macy's, and she enjoyed frequenting Beachwood Mall, turning each visit into an event. Beyond fashion, Emmarine was an ardent fan of CNN and sports, cheering with vigor for the Cleveland Cavaliers and her favorite player, LeBron James. As a mother, Emmarine was a loving and nurturing presence.

She leaves behind her cherished children: Delmonica Smith, Lessie Smith (Melody), Her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren: Taylor Smith, Lyndsey Smith (mother to twins), Laryssa (Ryan) Stevens (mother to four boys, whom Emmarine lovingly referred to as "the boys"), and Marcus Smith. Her Furry child” Paris”. Her pride and joy were evident whenever she spoke of her family, and her grandchildren were the light of her life. She spoke so highly of her cousin that is doing the eulogy and was very proud of her Emarine was the beloved sister to Loraine Benson (Tea), Sara Triutt, Bertha Beler, and Mary Willis. She held a special bond with her sister cousin, the late Bertha Wade, with whom she shared lively discussions about politics and everything under the sun. Her brother Willie B. Williams also preceded her in death, and she was a source of strength and love for her entire family. Emmarine's life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of faith. She was a thoughtful soul who brought joy and comfort to those around her. Her cousin, who is honored to deliver the eulogy, was among the many people she inspired with her unwavering support and pride.

Emmarine McClinton's legacy is one of elegance, devotion, and a faith-filled life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will continue to inspire love and grace in the hearts of her family and friends. Her spirit, so full of life and love, will remain a guiding light for generations to come.
