Eric was born on June 11th, 1973, in Cleveland, OH., Aaron James (Deceased) and Georgia
Pearl (Fail) James. He was the youngest of five children. Later in his life, Eric confessed his life
over to Christ.
Eric attended Cleveland Public Schools which included Moses Cleveland, Robert H. Jamison,
and John Marshall High School (1991). Eric was an avid sports fan, from playing basketball at
Jamison, to having the entire neighborhood over playing in the back yard of his childhood home.
On tv, he loved watching the Cleveland Cavaliers the most, but also enjoyed watching the
Browns and the Indians/Guardians.
Eric was part of a family tree that had many bowlers. As a child, he loved bowling and joined a
junior bowling league at Ambassador Lanes. He continued bowling for many years into his
adulthood at various bowling alleys, including South Gate Lanes. He bowled without putting
fingers into the ball and in turn had one of the meanest hooks you’d ever see on the bowling
lanes.
Eric was one of the most mild-mannered, mild tempered souls you could meet. He was pleasant
to you even if it was his first time meeting you. Although generally known to be the quiet one of
the bunch, when he spoke, he would have you cracking up laughing. He had such a fun and
silly personality.
Eric was great with electronics and technology. He was also a great handy man and often could
identify and resolve problems with plumbing, heating, and car concerns to name a few. He also
enjoyed barbecuing for the summer holidays and was very good at not burning the meat.
Throughout his working years, Eric worked for several companies which included Foxmeyer
Health Corporation, Office Max, ITT Automotive, US Garden Sales, Levin Furniture (in which he
had great stories about this one), and JOANN Fabrics.
One of his most favorite things to do was spending time with his daughter Erica. Whether in
person, or spending countless hours on the phone, he enjoyed talking to her and his oldest
Grandson Christen. Due to his illness and declining health, Eric had very limited time with his
youngest Grandson Kylan, who is 8 months old.
