Evelyn Harris Obituary

Evelyn Harris, a cherished matriarch and a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on August 11, 1932, in Brinkley, Arkansas to Lee Andrew Harris and Massie Harris. Evelyn's life was a testament to the strength and resilience of her loving spirit.

Evelyn's early years in Brinkley laid the foundation for a life full of compassion and dedication. She was a proud graduate of Marion Anderson High School, where she formed friendships and values that would last a lifetime. Her journey led her to Cleveland, where she became a beloved member of the community, both through her work and her personal connections.

Her career began with a job at Mills Restaurant on Euclid Ave. It was not long before Evelyn found her calling at the Cleveland Clinic Main Hospital in the Dietary department. For 37 years, she served the hospital with unwavering passion and commitment, retiring with a legacy of respect and admiration from her colleagues and those she served.

Evelyn's life was a tapestry woven with the love of her family. She was a devoted mother to Joy Harris and Sillerstean Harris. Her siblings, Ruth, and the late Alfonso, Curtis Lee "uncle CL," Alvin, Dorothy, Mac, Lonez "aunt Dot," Otis, Loistene, Othella, Hollis, Lee Andrew "uncle sunnyman," and Thelma, along with Mary and the late Lomax, held a special place in her heart. Evelyn's joy multiplied with the birth of each grandchild, Dushawn, Tionna, DeWayne, and Jovon, and she beamed with pride at the mention of her great-grandchildren Nakia, Foxii, Jasmine, Deshawn, Dushawn Jr, Bella, and Liam.

To know Evelyn was to know love in its purest form. She embodied the essence of kindness and passion, touching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warm smile and generous heart left an indelible mark on her family, friends, and community.

As we bid farewell to Evelyn Harris, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and deeply felt. She taught us the power of love, the importance of kindness, and the joy of giving. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who knew her and the generations to come. Though she has left this earthly realm, her spirit will forever guide and comfort us, like a lighthouse's beam cutting through the darkest night.

Evelyn's life will be remembered in the stories told by her loved ones, the laughter shared around the dinner table, and the quiet moments of reflection on a life well-lived. She was a gift to us all, and while we mourn her passing, we also rejoice in having been a part of her extraordinary journey.

Rest in peace, Evelyn Harris. Your memory will forever be a treasure in the hearts of those who loved you.
