Howard Craig Williams, passed away on January 7, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on September 24, 1956, in Cleveland, Ohio. Howard was a lifelong resident of the city he loved. His passing, stemming from heart disease and respiratory illness, he expired peacefully at home.
Howard was the beloved son of the late Florence Williams-Bell and Seth J. Cowan; he was raised by his grandmother Ethel Williams (deceased); he enjoyed spending time with his step-father Lewis; he was also a caring brother to Ricky S. Terrelle, and Maurice Cowan, all of whom predeceased him in death; leaving behind his brothers Lamont Bell, Gabriel Cowan and sister Tansy Cowan. Howard loved his significant other, Patricia Hall, their loving partnership stood the test of time until the end. Together, they created a blended family, welcoming bonus children Octavia and Dion Hall into his life. The love and laughter they shared as a family were Howard's greatest treasures.
A proud graduate of Shaker Heights High School, Howard furthered his education at Cuyahoga Community College. His commitment to learning was evident in his conversations and insightful perspectives. Howard worked off & on for many years in custodial service, ensuring that the environments around him were well-maintained and welcoming. Additionally, his entrepreneurial spirit shone through his work as a street vendor in the community.
Howard's interests were as varied as they were passionate. He was an avid fisherman, finding peace and solace by the water's edge. His love for playing cards made him a formidable opponent in a spades game.
Howard's was very social he loved hanging out with likeminded friends & family. He lived his life on his own terms. The street life was not easy but he couldn't let it go. He did it his way. He relished the opportunity to engage in conversation especially with the youth, encouraging them to do better and not allow these streets to destroy their dreams.
Howard cherished his relationship with Aunt Ruby & Uncle Walter Kerr, they were his rock of wisdom along with his brother Rick who lead him to Christ Jesus; they encouraged Howard to trust in the Lord & read the Bible; before they passed. He did that at times & would attended church services with Pat. Prayerful he made his peace with God in his last days.
Those who knew Howard would describe him as friendly & helpful. His absence will be deeply felt by his family & friends.
