Joseph Forrest Obituary

Joseph "Joe" Forrest, a cherished husband, father, and inventive mind, passed away peacefully at the age of 79 in Medina, Ohio on March 21, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born  in Macon, Georgia, to Elder Forrest and willa Mae Adams he is the last surviving sibling out of seven Joe's early years were filled with the warmth of southern hospitality and the values of community and hard work. Joe's educational journey led him from the vibrant classrooms of a community college to the hands-on learning of trade school, where he honed his skills as an electrician and worked for Ford Motor Company for  over 40 years retiring in 2021,   His natural curiosity and drive to innovate culminated in the creation of the quick discharge faucet valve, an invention that earned him a patent and revolutionized efficiency , Throughout his life, Joe was known for his dedication to his craft, but he was also a man who knew how to enjoy life's simple pleasures. An avid poker player, Joe approached the game with a blend of seriousness and joy. It was at the poker table where his keen intellect and generous spirit shone brightly, as he both challenged and uplifted his fellow players. Joe's kindness was as vast as his intellect, and his generosity knew no bounds. He was a beacon of light in his community, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a word of encouragement. His warm presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of love and wisdom in his family, who were his pride and joy. Joe is survived by his beloved wife Theresa Cofield Forrest, who stood by his side through every high and low. His children, Phillip Forrest, Camille Forrest, and Sharon Forrest,  and  a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews ,. As we reflect on Joe's life, we are reminded of the words of Albert Einstein, "Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile." Joe embodied this sentiment through his actions and the deep connections he forged with those around him. His life was indeed a testament to the power of living for others, and his impact will continue to ripple through the lives he touched. Joe Forrest was a man of remarkable character, whose life's work and loving relationships stand as a testament to the man he was. As we say goodbye to this extraordinary individual, we take comfort in knowing that his legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to cross his path. A private ceremony will be held to honor the memory of Joseph Forrest. He will be laid to rest surrounded by the memories of a life well-lived as he so cherished. Let us hold dear the memory of Joe, a man who brought light and love into the world, and whose story will continue to inspire us all for generations to come.
