Judnethia Wood Obituary

Judnethia B. Wood (83), called from labor to reward Feburary 1, 2020.

Judnethia (Judy) Beatrice Wood was born on April 29, 1936 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was the "First Born" of five children by Charlie and Beatrice Hall who are now deceased. Judy proudly reminded her siblings that she was "first born". Her siblings Charles Hall married to Wenorah Hall, Juliette Jackson married to Eddie Jackson, Barbara Hopes married to Samuel Hopes (deceased), and Carl Edward Hall. She often called her mother, her "best friend", she attended elementary, junior high and high school in her hometown where she participated in sports. She graduated from high school with honors and her ambition was to become a nurse and mother. She met, dated, and married Robert E. Wood and started their family which includes four children: Victoria (Wood) Shivers, Dwanna Antionette (Wood) Levert married to Joseph Levert, Robin Michelle Wood, and Demetrius P. Wood. She loved being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother, there are six grandchildren, Latisha Wood, Selia (Wood) Fox married to Mario Fox, Jasmine Wood, Joseph Levert Jr., Cheryl-Lynn Shivers, and Lenny Shivers. There are eleven great grandchildren, Tajh’nique, Genia, Jenecya, Rozalind, London, Layla, Donovan, Silviha and Savanha (twins) and Deja and Jada (twins).

She also has two nieces and a nephew, Nicole Jackson (deceased), Yvette and Yohance Hall. With a host of church family, and the community of the Kinsman and Buckeye area knew her from her spreading God’s word or just seeing her walk around in the area, and she would tell everyone that she had Cadillac feet. Judy was a dedicated member of Morelight Missionary Baptist for over 30 years, she loved the Lord and a faithful servant to God. She was a Sunday School Teacher, Superintendent of Sunday School and MC for her church on many occasions.  Judy talked about her church all the time, supported her church faithfully, and was dedicated to the Lord and served God throughout her life. Her favorite song was "I’m Satisfied with Jesus". Judy was a wonderful mother, and a shining light in our lives. Judy would light up a room when she entered. She is with God now but will awake again one day. We know Judy is in God's Care forever. We will miss and cherish our beloved “Judy” always.

The Wood family would like to sincerely thank Reverend and Sister Rutledge of Morelight Missionary Baptist Church, Rev Michael Boome II and the Morelight Missionary Baptist Church Family, Hospice Team, Nurses and Doctors of University Hospital, and Landerbrook Transitional Center for the caring of our beloved Judy.
