Celebrating the Life of Karen Denise “Deni” Warner

Karen Denise Warner—known to all who loved her simply as Deni—was a true light
in this world. For 73 beautiful years, she blessed us with love, laughter, and wisdom.
Born January 2, 1952, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Frank and Gilda Warner, Deni
had a spirit that could brighten any room. Her quick wit, sharp mind, and loving
heart touched everyone she met. On July 18, 2025, Deni transitioned peacefully in
her hometown of Cleveland after a courageous battle with breast cancer. While our
hearts are heavy, we celebrate the fullness of her life and the legacy she leaves
behind.
Deni was the rock and the joy of her family. She was the beloved sister of Renee
Sanford, Kevin Warner (Lisa), Helen Jeffrey, and Sean Warner. She poured her love
and guidance into her children, Khalia Warner-Butler (Christopher) and Kriszten
Warner, raising them with grace, strength, and humor. Her grandchildren—Ashley
Broussard, Christopher B. Butler, Brianna N. Butler, Dakota L. Butler, Elijah A.
Butler, and Antonio Palmer—were her pride and joy, each carrying a piece of her
light into the world.
A proud graduate of Jane Addams Business Careers Center, Class of 1971, Deni
dedicated her life to service. She worked as an administrative assistant at Andrew J.
Rickoff Elementary School, but her job was much more than paperwork—it was
ministry. She mentored, encouraged, and uplifted generations of students and staff,
always ready with a joke, a smile, or a kind word.
Deni’s faith was the foundation of her life. She walked with God and kept her sense
of humor close by, knowing—as Bernie Mac so wisely said—“Laughter is healing.
You can’t be mad and laugh at the same time.” Deni lived that truth every day. Her
laughter was medicine for the soul, and she made sure nobody in her circle went too
long without a smile.
When she wasn’t pouring love into her family or lifting up her community, Deni
stayed connected in her own unique way. She was an avid gamer, making friends
from all corners of life in the online world. And if you ever checked your phone and
saw a TikTok from Deni, you knew you were about to laugh. Her videos were her
way of reminding us all to smile, no matter what the day brought.
To know Deni was to know someone real—loving, funny, and wise beyond measure.
She had a gift for turning ordinary moments into treasured memories. Her humor
could lift the heaviest heart, and her love made you feel like you belonged.

In addition to her immediate family, Deni leaves behind a plethora of nieces,
nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and countless friends whose lives
she touched deeply. Her love and influence stretched far and wide, creating a family
that extended well beyond bloodlines. Deni also shared her heart with her beloved
fur babies—Alexis (deceased), Ali, King (deceased), Royalty, Future, and Kaia
(deceased)—each of whom brought her immense joy and companionship.
As we celebrate Deni’s life, we carry forward her legacy of joy, resilience, and faith.
She taught us the power of family, the importance of laughter, and how to keep
going no matter what life throws your way. Though we’ll miss her in the physical,
her spirit will always be with us—guiding, inspiring, and reminding us to keep that
spark alive.
Rest well, Deni. We love you, and we’ll carry your laughter in our hearts forever.
