Katherine Cowan

Katherine Cowan was born to Monroe and Idell Wright on April 17, 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio.  She had 5 brothers and 1 sister; Monroe Jr., Floyd, Eddie Lee, Alfred, Ernestine and Earl. She attended Cleveland Public Schools.  She was employed at St. Vincent Charity Hospital and Universal Sewing Company for many years.

Katherine was a long life member of St. Paul A.M.E church where she was baptized at an early age.  Katherine enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and enjoying time with her family.  She always had her doors open to anyone who needed a place to stay.  Katherine was a mother to many children as well as an aunt to many.  God blessed Katherine with 7 children: Cora (Robert), Idell (Michael), Katherine, Curtis (deceased), James (Cathy), Wilma (Bruce), Cedric and Catherine “Kitty” Wright (niece).  She also leaves to mourn a sister in-law Geraldine “Moochie” Wright, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and host of other family and friends.   

Katherine Cowan departed this life July 29, 2019 at Mount St. Joseph.  Many of Katherine’s loved ones have proceeded her in death:  Munroe (father), Idell (mother), Curtis (husband), Munroe (brother), Floyd (brother), Ernestine (sister), Earl (brother) and Curtis (son). 

Katherine’s spirit still remains in our hearts of those that loved her.  We love her and may she rest in peace.
