Katherine Alberta (Stanton) Tisdale

Katherine Alberta Stanton was born on October 27, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Lucilius Stanton and Eldora ( nee Meritt) Stanton. She was the youngest of four children born to this union.

Her Formative years occurred in Miles Heights, where she was raised by her Aunt Flossie. Katherine attended Beehive Elementary School and Longwood Trade School. She studied cosmetology and sewing.

Katherine had to drop out of school in the eighth grade year, to help take care of her older sister and her son.

On July 12 1941 she married Clarence Thomas (deceased). To this union she had four children. Years later she met and married Elmo Tisdale (deceased), and he had a daughter Sandy Brently.

Katherine went to work at Bowman Products (Bane's Distribution) as an Order Filler, after 34 years of employment she retired.

Katherine learned to crochet at an early age and continued until her passing. Katherine was a very loving and giving person. She loved sending special occasion cards to family and friends.

Katherine peacefully went to be with the Lord on Wednesday May 13, 2020 at 6:39 p.m. she lived a joyful and comfortable life. She was preceded in by two children Carl R. Thomas , Charlie Mae Kee. Leaving to cherish her precious memories Electa J. Johnson, Clarence E. Thomas, along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends. Special Thank you to Johnnette Douglas who was like a daughter to my mother and a sister to me, she lived upstairs for 16 years and took care of my mom for 2 1/2 years and she loved like a mother.
