Lillie Pearl was married to the Late Roy Lee Chatman Sr. on November 29th 1948. To this union seven children were born. Lillie Pearl (Madea) was a loving mother, home maker and child care provider for all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Madea was always busy, combing her five daughter’s hair and cooking for her family, she always found time for her favorite hobby which was sewing. She accepted Christ at an early age.
Lillie Pearl (Madea) will be remembered for her since of humor, her since of style and her compassion for family. She peacefully transitioned on May 11, 2023 and leaves to cherish her memory and legacy her children Janice Chatman Hughes, Judith Chatman, Reginald Chatman, Jacqueline Chatman Lee (Alonza), (Birmingham, Alabama), Gwendolyn Chatman, Girlena Chatman (deceased), Roy Chatman Jr. (deceased) Two sisters Lois Robinson (Herman), Rosa Ellen Harris (deceased), three brothers, Hershel S. Baynes, Gus Baynes Jr. (deceased), Clarance M. Baynes (deceased), all from Birmingham, Alabama. Seventeen Grandchildren, eighteen Great Grandchildren, four Great Great Grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
