Linda R. Jordan

On June 24, 2026, Linda Ruth Armstrong-Jordan transition to her new heavenly life. She was born in New Orleans. Louisiana, on May 31, 1948, to the parentage of the late Jessie and Mattie Armstrong.

It was in the summer of 1963 at the Second Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor B.T. Birmingham, where Linda received Christ at an early age and was baptized. After entering adulthood, Linda joined Second Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor A.L. Owens.  On February 6, 2002, Linda joined Providence Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Rodney Maiden, where she served for many years as an Alter Counselor, a faithful midweek Bible study student under the leadership of Dr. Brenda Smith.

Linda was educated in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, aka "CPS" where she graduated in January 1967 from Glenville Senior High School, YES indeed (A Tarblooder).  Linda didn't stop learning; she continued her thirst for knowledge at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  Didn't stop there, received a Court Reporters AAS Certification.

On July 13, 1971, Linda was united in matrimony to Warren H. Jordan. To this union two children were born, LeShan and Brian.

Linda began her long-time employment with the Cleveland Public Schools; where she served 30+ years. Because of her love to surround herself with people, she worked part-time at Sterling-Lindner-Davis, May Company and Kaufman's.

In the early 1980's our late cousin Kimberly Milligan told Linda about a line dance class at the YWCA. Upon that introduction, she was hooked. Linda experienced a sense of freedom, energy and excitement as she mastered the Electric Slide, which blossomed into Ballroom, Step and more.  Linda had so much joy traveling with her dance community and her churches travel agent Vivian of Viviano's Cruises & Tours while making new friends.

On June 24, 2026, Linda left to cherish her memory her beloved sons. LeShan Jordan and Brian Jordan. Her two sisters, Gloria Croom (Herman), Deborah Armstrong-Davis (Reginald), nieces and nephews Yvette McMichael (Jewvon), Tiffany Banks (Lawrence Sr), Kristopher Davis, Milan McMichael, Lawrence Banks Jr., LaRae Banks, one Aunt Claudia Hawkins of Louisiana and countless cousins, extended family members and her dance community family and friends.
