Louise Robinson Obituary

Born April 6, 1938 to Eugene Nelson and Luevenia Andrews in Atlanta, Ga. She was the
second of fourteen children.
Her favorite scriptures are:” Weeping May endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning.” (
Psalm 30:5) and “ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” ( John 3:16)
On June 1st, 1963, Louise married Richard Robinson, Jr. Together they raised three children,
Fred L. Robinson, Penny L. Robinson ( Durham) and Raymond L . Robinson.
Louise worked for the federal government from 1962 until February 1995 as a Claims Examiner
and a Rating Board Specialist. Her retirement allowed her to reach into her “ Old Age Bag” To
indulge in some of the desires of her heart which included macramé, doll making, crocheting,
sewing, embroidering, play wiring and traveling.
Louise became a member of Fifth Christian Church in November 1970 under the leadership of
Rev. William Wardell Hannah. She held various positions, mostly working with the youth. For a
time she was a member of the Contemporary Choir directed by Delores Sykes. Her most
rewarding accomplishment came from working with Zumba Jones, the youth and writing plays
for the church .
Louise really loved Fifth Christian Church. The love and fellowship was contagious. She could
sing, “I love the Lord, he heard my cry and pitied every groan. As long as I live and troubles rise,
I’ll hasten to His throne.”
Louise made it a point to laugh as often as possible. She could always find amusement in every
situation. Sometimes this habit got her in trouble, but, she did it anyway.
Her favorite expression was, “ My Mama said...” and she would also remark, “ Richard is taking
very good care of me”. She often went a round or two with Daisy Hubbard or Lillian Hodges.
She would also at times voice her opinion which was not necessarily the “Party Line”. However,
she really cared about people and tried to help them whenever she could.
Diane Cunningham was also a unique friend who held a special place in her heart. She
especially loved her brothers and sisters. The following siblings preceded Louise in death:
Marilyn (1957), Patricia (1959 died within days of birth), Estella (1988), Robert Freddie (1993),
James (1999), David (2008) , Virginia (2008), Eugene Jr. (2012) Harry (2023).
Louise leaves the following to carry on her memory; Richard Robinson Jr. , her husband, her
children Fred (Martha Ann), Penny (Charles), Raymond (Regina), grandchildren Nelson,
Raymond (J.R.), Jerrod (Misty), Jaquia and Rayna, nine great grandchildren and two
great-great grandchildren, three sisters Betty Daramola (Mi.), Diane Williams (N.C), Jacqueline
Waller (Mi), one brother, Marvin Nelson (Mi) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
