Mrs. Mamie Lee Sanderfer was born January 22, 1946, to William and Lillian Snoddy in Eutau, Alabama. She attended Druid City High School where she graduated with her diploma in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She has always been a lover of God, and she committed her life to Christ at an early age.
After graduating high school, the southern belle moved from down south to Chicago, Illinois for a while. After that, she moved to Cleveland, Ohio, and shortly thereafter, she met the love of her life, Mr. Daniel Sanderfer. They married in 1967 and together, they raised five beautiful children: Demetrius, Darnella, Daniel Jr., Desdemona, and Donte.
They say it takes a village to raise a family, and Mrs. Mamie was the village keeper of village keepers. The lives she impacted are countless; including family, friends, and strangers, but to her, they were all considered family. No matter the day, you knew where to find her. Whether it be in her living room in her rocking chair, on her porch, or downtown at the Casino, she was the constant. Constantly encouraging, constantly teaching, constantly praying, constantly loving, and constantly giving.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Daniel Sanderfer, Sr. Her son, Daniel Sanderfer Jr. Siblings: Ben Sam, Otis, Pearl, and Lawrence.
Grandchildren Corey Sanderfer Sr., and Dejon Forbes. She leaves behind siblings: Annie Mae, Ophelia, William B., Caroline. Sisters in love: Etta, Pinky, and Lula. Her four children, Demetrius, Darnella, Desdemona, and Donte. A clan of 23 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Special friends Harry, Ron and Barbara Washington, Lanette Boyd, Frances Mae Harris, and the Sanders family; and many other cousins, extended family, and friends.
