Mary Louise Willis was born on July 27, 1938 to Saul and Leola Willis in Holt, Alabama. Her father Saul Willis passed away when she was four years old. Her mother Leola Willis passed away in 1981. Mary attended school in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and graduated from Holt High School.

She attended St. John African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church in Holt, Alabama. She left Alabama in the late 1950's traveling to New York City, New York.

In 1959, she married Tommie Billingsley and they had four children, of which one, Eric Billingsley preceded her in death. She was the youngest daughter of twelve siblings and the last of her siblings to be called home to glory. She worked for Union Carbide (now known as the Energizer Corporation) for more than thirty years.

After her retirement from Union Carbide, Mary worked at various jobs because of her love for interacting with people. In the 1980's, she became a member of Christian Tabernacle Church where Pastor William Sawyer served as the pastor. After Sawyer’s death, she transitioned over to Pentecostal Church of Christ where Bishop Delano Ellis served as the senior pastor.

She parted this life on Monday,January 27, 2020, shortly after 5:00 A.M. in University Hospital (main campus) in Cleveland, Ohio.

She leaves to mourn, her husband, Tommie L. Billingsley, sons, Dwayne Billingsley(Geraldine), Christopher Billingsley (Judy), and Daughter, Terri Billingsley.

In addition, she leaves behind six Grandchildren, Cynara Robinson, Dwayne Billingsley Jr. (deceased), Christopher Billingsley, Anthony Billingsley, Yvonne Billingsley, and Allegra Billingsley-McCall,. Also, she leaves behind host of sister-in-law’s, Brother-in-law’s, Nieces, Nephews, and Great Grandchildren, as well as, cherished friends.
