Michael Joseph Hamilton

Michael Joseph Hamilton was called to be with the Lord October 8, 2021.

Michael was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 6, 1958.  He was the only child of Julius Hill Hamilton and Johnnie Mae Hamilton lovingly called Cokie.  Michael grew up in a loving household and was raised by his Grandmother Mildred Hamilton and his Aunt Cecelia Hamilton.

Michael accepted Christ at an early age.  He was an altar boy at The Church of the Incarnation (Episcopal) throughout his childhood.  He worked summers at his Aunt Mary’s restaurant Mama’s Boy BBQ. Michael loved his family and especially enjoyed gatherings during the holidays at his grandmother’s home.  He loved spending summers in Selma, AL with his grandparents Viola and James Williams and in Dayton, Ohio with his Aunt Creola and Uncle Russell.

Michael graduated from Cleveland Heights High School in 1977 where he was a member of the wrestling team.  Michael graduated from college and received a bachelor’s degree in information technology.  Michael was an entrepreneur at heart and owned a medical transportation company with his Uncle Joe for a short while.  He also worked for FEMA where he designed cell towers.

Left to mourn his loss and to share wonderful and loving memories are those who knew him well.   Michael is survived by his last devoted Auntie Creola Reese and Uncle Russell Reese of Dayton, Ohio whom loved him deeply and Aunt Margarette Williams of Dayton, Ohio.  His first cousins Jeanetta Miller (Edward) of McCalla, AL, Andrew Johnson (Cathy) of Lyndhurst, Ohio, Joseph Simmons (Wendy) of Cleveland, Ohio, Gregory Hamilton (Dahlys) of Suwanee, GA, and Wayne Hamilton (Bridgette) of Northfield, Ohio, Cecelia Gregory (Edward) of Solon, Ohio, Crystal Booker (Claude) of Northfield, Ohio, Gail Boyd of Cincinnati, Ohio, Marchella Haislah (Erik Sr.) of Cleveland, Ohio, Renee Smith (Jeff) of Dayton, OH and Joseph Wagner Williams (Anita) of San Diego, CA. and a host relatives and friends.

To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
