Noel Cedric Howard

Noel Cedric Howard, age 58, precious son of Theresa Howard and the late Fred Howard Jr., passed away suddenly on April 1, 2019.  He loved music, and was an enthusiastic percussionist in local bands over the decades. A big-hearted animal advocate, he passionately loved his dog and his cats.  He was a proud carpenter, installing and refinishing gym floors for school systems and colleges across Ohio, and was especially proud of the work he did on the Cleveland Cavaliers floors.  He was a loving partner of 35 years to Gail Markle Smith, was a proud and loving Dad to Daniel Smith (Monica), Marisa Dickinson (Dana) and Karin Smith, and was grandfather of one amazing grandson.  He is also survived by his brother Niles Howard (Marianne), two nieces and one grandniece; Aunts Mary Lee Moten, Mae Frances Dykes, Carnetha Breedlove, Dianna McMillan (Sam), Uncles Louis Willis, Verlyn Willis Sr. (Lois), Theardis Willis (Valerie), a host of cousins, and many friends (including his Uzizi bandmates and Joe Pinzone). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the ASPCA or to the charity of your choice.
