She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter Alpha 809, Black PAC, State Representative for American March Association, Ward 1 Democratic Club, Executive Committee for Cuyahoga County Democratic Party,; Campaign Chairperson for Vermel Whalen in her bid for State Senator. State and Nationally known as "Lady D" founder of "Lady D" Drill Team. Loving mother of LaJean  (Ulysses), Johnnie Pearl, Otis (Linda), Apryl Ann. Dearest sister of L. Pearl Shields, Devoted grandmother, great grandmother.
