Priscilla Watters Obituary

Priscilla & Babydoll Watters, known for expressing her love and wisdom, passed away
peacefully on February 2, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on June 27, 1942, to the late
Minnie and Alonzo Taylor Sr., Babydoll was a cherished daughter, mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and loving friend. Her vibrant spirit and
unwavering faith left an indelible mark on all who were blessed to know her.

Babydoll was the wife of the late Y.C. Watters, with whom she shared a lifetime of love
and memories. During their 41 years of marriage they had four children: Derrick,
Pamela, Sonequa and Nachae. Her departure from this world occurred on a bittersweet
day. She added an affectionate note to her life story, as she was reunited with her
beloved late husband on his birthday.

Her early childhood years were spent in Cleveland Public Schools, after which she
moved to Los Angeles, California, where she obtained her Associate degree in nursing.
Babydoll dedicated her life to caring for others as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN),
serving with compassion at Los Angeles General Hospital and Kaiser Hospital in
Cleveland, Ohio. Her nurturing touch and presence were a source of comfort to
countless patients and families.

She leaves behind a legacy of love in her children, Derrick Taylor (preceded in death),
Pamela (Dan) Lightfoot, Sonequa (Charles) Smoot, and Nachae Watters; her
grandchildren, Shaina (Ray) Hutson, Mone (James) Idom, Artanone Taylor, Danny J
Lightfoot II (DJ), Derrick Taylor, Jazmin Williams, Tiffani Fuller; her great-grandchildren,
Aniyah Idom, James Idom, Cartier Taylor, Carter Hutson, Mia Lightfoot, Cayla Hutson,
Malia Taylor, Olivia Idom, and Danny J Lightfoot III (D3).

Babydoll siblings, Mary Alice Burks (preceded in death), Alonzo Taylor Jr. (preceded in
death), Ruth Jarrett (preceded in death), Johnny Taylor, and Gregory Taylor; her nieces,
Denise, Ersina, Diedra, Aretha, Tracy, Michelle, Kadja and Elsi Anne; her nephews,
Ricco (preceded in death), Alonzo, Robert, Brian, Johnny and Gregory, along with a
host of extended family and close friends, including her best friend of over 50 years
(Vera Rackley).

Babydoll interests reflected her zest for life, touching the lives of many with her warmth
and wisdom. She was fun-loving and enjoyed playing bingo, visiting casinos, and

always kept a penny or two for scratch-offs, truly an avid gambler. At home, she could
often be found crocheting while watching classic movies and reality tv shows. Her
passion for family shone brightest when she was spending quality time with her
grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

Babydoll presence was comforting in the lives of her loved ones. Her laughter was
infectious, her advice invaluable and her love unconditional. She lived her life fully,
embracing both the joys and challenges with unwavering faith and a heart full of love.
Babydoll memory will forever be a source of joy and inspiration to all who had the
privilege of knowing her.

“Don’t grieve for me, for I’m free and following the path God laid for me. I took His hand

when I heard His call, turned my back and left it all.”
