Randy Laster Obituary

Remembering Randy Ray Laster

Randy Ray Laster was born on August 30, 1959, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Ramone Laster and Lennie Provo (Peterson). From an early age, he moved with purpose—always building, always striving, always making things happen. He accepted Christ as a young man at William Chapel and later rededicated himself to his faith, relying on it as a constant source of strength and guidance throughout life's journey.

A proud graduate of John Adams High School, Randy’s true education came from life itself. With skilled hands and a sharp eye, he became a master tailor and craftsman, shaping not just fabric but also homes and the lives of those around him. He built a career at Joseph & Feiss and Peer Gordon before branching out on his own to establish LSL Home & Remodeling Company. His passions ran deep, and his hands never stopped creating.

Randy was a character in every sense—full of life, quick-witted, and never one to hold his tongue. He had a presence you couldn’t ignore, a laugh that filled the room, and a no-nonsense attitude that kept everyone in check. He built friendships as easily as he built houses, making connections wherever he went.

A Life Woven with Love

Love and family were at the core of Randy’s journey. He met his first love, Jeanette, and together they welcomed two beautiful children, Bianca and Courtney. Life led him to new paths, and from another chapter, Ramon was born. Later, he met and married Patricia, and together they built a blended family, embracing Devin, Brandon, and Candice as his own.

Randy’s family is a reflection of the rich and full life he lived. He is survived by his children, Bianca, Courtney, and Ramon, along with his stepchildren, Devin, Brandon, Candice, and Treasure. He was a proud grandfather to Khalia, Reina, and Sir Michael and a guiding presence to Ra’Mel, Alani’Marie, Iyana’Marie, Jazaria, Briana, Serenity, Brandon Jr., Harmony, Eric, Kay’Shawn, Kay’Chanel, and Kay’Lani. His great-grandchildren, Kylen and Brayden, will grow up hearing the stories of the man who lived life on his own terms.

His siblings, Ramon, Sean, and David, his uncle Bobby Laster, and his brothers-in-law Lawrence Cooper, Willie Milton, and Larry Morgan, Mother-in-Law Lilly Mae Franklin, and four Sisters-in-law Cozzetta, Sonja, Johnnie Mae and Essie, stand among the many loved ones who will carry forward his memory.

On March 1, 2025, after a long battle with health issues, Randy took his final rest, reuniting with his mother, Lennie Provo (Peterson), and father, Ray Ramone Laster, who preceded him in death. His story does not end here—it lives on in the hearts of those he loved, the friendships he built, and the legacy he left behind.

Rest easy, Randy. Your work here is done, but your legacy is just getting started.
