Raymond Young Obituary

Joe Willie Young and Lucille Delores Marshall were blessed with their 4th child Raymond Earl Young also known as “Hell”. Love found Raymond in the form of  his “Chicken Wing” Donna Marie Pauldo when he met her and Lashae. Not long after he married the love of his life  and they were together until the Lord called her home in 2020. From this Union came their only grandson LaTeris affectionately known as "Peanut," . God blessed him and Donna  with 2 of the best things this world had to offer. Thanks to his Nephew Tavion he was later named “Ray U” until the day God called him home.

Raymond, departed this life on January 14, 2025, in Cleveland, Ohio, after a courageous battle with cancer. His loving spirit and zest for life left a mark on all who knew him. Raymond was a man who loved his family. He always renamed people what he wanted to  call them and even had his own language that was sure to make you laugh when he broke the meaning down in regular english.

He is survived by his loving siblings, Charles Young (who preceded him in death), Joe Young (Josephine), Edna Young, Shirley Nicholson, Linda Young, Cleotha Young and Patricia Young. Raymond had a genuine love for all the kids in the family so you often saw him spending quality time with them. He also leaves to cherish his memory a host of  Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, friends and 1 Godson Dontez who were all dear to his heart.

Raymond's early life set the stage for a journey filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to hard work. He graduated from Thomas Edison High School in 1976, where he showcased his athletic talents on the football field. His work ethic was exceptional, he worked in  various roles at the Mahalia Jackson Center, Cleveland Browns Stadium for 17 years, Richmond Brothers, S.N.I.P.E for 3 years, and the Cleveland Clinic from 1981 until his retirement. A man of pride and dedication, Raymond could proudly say he "never got fired from a job."

In his spare time, Raymond was a die hard sports fan. He played softball for the "Low Riders" in his 20s, and his passion for the Cleveland sports, specifically the Browns, was unbreakable. He was known for his ability to light up a room with his funny stories and he also was the go-to person when something needed fixing, thanks to his handy skills. His love for fishing, being a “Grill Master”, camping, and spending quality time with Lashae and Peanut brought joy to his life. Let’s not forget his “Friday night Live” sessions with his Best friend and brother Joe where he would truly get live.

Raymond's life was a testament to the power of positivity and the strength of the human spirit. His legacy is about  the importance of cherishing each moment.  He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to guide and influence us all. Raymond's journey through life was remarkable, and he will forever be remembered in the lives of those he touched.
