Rickey Homer Travick, age 68, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away on August 28, 2025. He was born on March 8, 1957, in Cleveland to the late Ida Copeland and Homer Travick. Rickey was a devoted husband to his wife, Mattie Travick, and a loving father to his sons, Rickey (Sarah) Hinton and Corey Hinton. He was preceded in death by his son Jermaine Jackson (Tempress) and daughter Parshai Hinton. He is survived by his brothers Jimmy Copeland, Mitchell Travick, and Bernard Travick Sr., as well as his sister Dorthy Vines (Rosevelt).
He was preceded in death by his sister Gwen Travick. Rickey also played a special role in raising his niece and two nephews, Nikita Lewis (Ray), Bernard Travick Jr., and Richard Horton (Nefretiri), whom he loved as his own. In addition, he is survived by several cherished grandchildren, along with great-nieces and nephews who brought him much joy. Rickey dedicated his working life to serving others. He worked in maintenance at St. James AME Church and 2nd Mt. Carmel, where he was also a lifelong member. He also gave his time and heart to Fresh Start, working with recovering addicts and offering hope to those seeking a new path. A proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous, Rickey celebrated 35 years of sobriety. He spent much of his life guiding and supporting others in their journeys toward recovery, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, resilience, and faith. Rickey will be remembered for his deep love of family, his service to his community, and his unwavering commitment to helping others. His life was a true example of strength, grace, and kindness. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered, and his spirit will live on through the love of his family and the grace of God.
