Russell’s Story
Russell Frazier was born March 6, 1958, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Laura A. Shivers and S. J. Thomas who proceeded him in death.
Russell attended Cleveland Public Schools and graduated in 1975. He volunteered and attended Sunday services at Damascus Baptist Church from May 2010 until December 2022 when the pantry closed. He helped pack food bags and assisted clients who needed help taking their bags to their cars. He also assisted in helping to pick up and load the trucks. While waiting on orders from the food bank, Russell would help some of the other churches load their trucks.
To know Russell was to “Love” him, you were either a bum, tomboy, clown, bully or he was to sue you!!, no matter what he always kept you laughing. Russell loved reading his bible and he could quote any verse to you by heart. He loved Marvels comic books, steno pads, DVDs, soap operas, and star wars.
“Spending time with Uncle shopping was so fun, we would laugh the whole time”
Russell was called to eternal rest on May 10, 2025, at Marymount Hospital in Garfield Heights, Ohio. He was called home to join his siblings; William Thomas, Yancy Thomas, Anna Lee Raines, Luther Thomas, Milton Thomas, Ralph Fraizer, Elenor Frazier, Barbara Morten.
Russell has one surviving brother Lawrence Thomas, a Loving Niece and faithful caregiver Yvonne Thomas-Wright, One Surviving sister Edwina Frazier-Jackson, Brother-in-law Frank Jackson and a host of family members and friends.
