Vivian Manson - Sykes Obituary

Vivian Manson-Sykes was born to the union of the late Blannie and Beulah Manson in Cleveland, Ohio on February 4th, 1927.

 

She attended Cleveland Public Schools and graduated from Central High School.

 

Vivian found God at an early age. She served as a member of Hayes Temple Church of God in Christ.

 

Vivian departed this life on May 18th, 2020. She leaves to mourn three daughters Paulette Manson Theriault, Pamela Freeman, Bryna Sykes, and stepchildren, Frank Robinson, Paula Robinson, Duane Thornhill, Michael Robinson, Kevin Robinson, Andre Robinson; three grandchildren, Monte Woodley, Gregory Dalon Freeman, Devan Danae Grady (Will Grady); One grand-dog, Mojito Sykes; son-in-law Jeffrey Theriault, ten great grandchildren, Jamie Marie Woodley, Day’lona Freeman, Delonte Freeman, Kylah Mayo, Jovon Freeman, Danyha Woodard, Kamryn Grady, Damon Woodard, Jr., Michael Davis, and Ayden Freeman; two great-great grandchildren Jaedyn and Le’Asia Bradley; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Manson; one brother-in-law, Howard Evans; five nieces, Yvonne Hollins, Gloria Jean Brewster, Victoria Graham, Carolyn Emeruwa, and Kimberly Lawson; four nephews, David Manson, Michael Manson, Darren Evans and Bryant Lawson; and great-nephew, Kai Evans; a host of great nieces, nephews and family; best friends Christine Clay, Inez Vanderhost Patterson and Arthur Barner.

 

She was preceded in death by Frank Sykes; grandson, Damon DeVaughn Woodard; son-in-law, Gregory Dale Freeman; two brothers, Carroll Manson Sr. and William Manson; three sisters, Rosalee Manson, Bernice Patterson, and Barbara Simpson; sister-in-law, Francis Manson; three nephews, Gregory Patterson, Larry Manson, Carol Manson, Jr., and great-nephew, Kevin Manson.

 

She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.

 

God saw the road was getting rough,

the hills were hard to climb,

He gently closed those loving eyes

and whispered “peace be thine.”

The weary hours, the days of pain,

the sleepless nights are passed.

The ever patient, worn out frame,

has found sweet rest at last.
