William L. Warren was born on October 14, 1940 in Booneville, Mississippi to William Ozell and Lucille Warren. He was the 2nd born of 6 children. He resided in Booneville with his siblings Shirley Smith, Ira Glenn Gullate, Mary Isom, Lula Phillips, and Melvin Scott for may years. In the early 1950’s the Warren family moved to Cleveland, Ohio where they began a new life. William attended Cleveland Public Schools from primary to 8th grade and then he transitioned to Glenville HS where he graduated.
In 1958 he married Ms. Janice Dukes whom later became Janice Warren, and from the union two children were born, Robbin and Nicole. William’s love for knowledge inspired him to continue his education at several colleges which led him to earn several degrees. He attended Cuyahoga Community College earning an Associates Degree in Business Administration, he also attended Ashland Theological Seminary earning a degree in religious Studies.
William’s professional career allowed him to take may different journeys catering to his unique and special talents. He served as a business administrative assistant for Cleveland Psychiatric Institute, an accounting clerk for Bank Ohio and finally as a letter carrier for United States Postal Service where he retired in 2002. His passion and love for Christ led him to answer the call to serve the lord, in 1985 he was ordained as a minister at Holy Trinity Baptist Church where he remained until he was called to pastor a church of his own, he became the pastor of Kornia Baptist Church where his sister served as his clerk. William had a love for many things, to name a few he loved: tennis, running track, modeling clothes, singing in the choir, traveling, and his trips to the casino when he was feeling lucky. He has a special love for music, this loved led home to sing in the Male Chorus for Greater Abyssinia Baptist Church as well as becoming president for Evangelistic Choir. His love for traveling led to the experience of traveling to Egypt where he took the opportunity to place his feet in the Jordan River.
He was preceded in death by his parents: William Ozell and Lucille Warren, his siblings: Melvin Scott, Shirley Smith and Ira Glenn Gullate.
He leaves to cherish his memoires his first wife, Janice Warren. Children: Robbin (Kenny) Cash and Nicole Warren. Siblings: Mary (Joe) Isom, Lula (William, Deceased) Phillips. His Grandson, Ryan Smith and Great Grandson, Ramir Smith. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
